Dynasty Warriors: Origins will essentially have you playing as a Traveler in your quest to bring peace to the land. This will offer a lot of choices in the main story, and no matter what choices you make, you’ll often be followed by your battle buddies.
Companions will stick by your side and follow you around the battlefield, although you can sometimes control them. Companions are incredibly powerful and playing as they will usually be more effective than playing as a Traveler with improvements; here is how to change characters.

How to change characters in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
You can only choose to switch to playing as a companion as long as there is a battle in which you have a companion. During the council of war before the battle the last option in the menu will be your companionand you can choose to go alone if you want, but you can’t take any companionship. After the battle starts, you will see your companion’s health bar at the bottom right of the screen.
Below the health bar will be a blue barmuch like their own Musou bar. As you fight, this bar will fill up and gain more energy:
Parrying attacks
The perfect escape
Assaulting officers
Using weapon arts
Just any action in battle Although very slow, this increases the bar somewhat.
Once The blue bar for your companion fills us completely, the “Change character” button will appear next to the bar. Press and hold the button for about one second to change characters. This is done with the View Button on Xbox, C on PC or Touchpad on PlayStation.

Play as other characters in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Only in the middle of a big battle should you switch to another character, because the companions are incredibly powerful and you will only control them for a minute. The blue bar filled to get through them will slowly empty and show you how much time you have left. Your new character will now have full Bravery and a list of incredibly effective martial arts to try out.
Switching to a new character will cause them to charge into battle with a massive attack, so be sure to target the enemy when switching. Your companion will also have their own Musou bar and a health barwhich is already charged and can activate that character’s own special attack to destroy your enemies.
